OBU Men’s Soccer defeats Louisiana College, 4-1

Andreas Krause scored two goals as the Ouachita Baptist men’s soccer team won its second straight, downing Louisiana College, 4-1, Friday at the OBU Soccer Complex.

The Tigers (2-0) got the offense going early as Krause scored off an assist by Barry McCaskill in the fifth minute to give Ouachita Baptist a 1-0 lead.

However, Louisiana College (0-5) tied the game in the 29th minute on an unassisted goal by Juan Ochoa.

Blake Mercer put the Tigers in front for good with an unassisted goal in the 34th minute. Ouachita Baptist, which recorded 18 shots, took a 2-1 lead into the second half.

Krause picked up his second goal in the 50th minute off an assist by David Armstrong and Jarod Townsend rounded out the score with a solid strike to far post in the 54th minute.

Neal Ozmun started in the net for the Tigers, finishing with two saves. Jarrett Davis, who replaced Ozmun at the half, had one save.

Jayson Stewart had five saves for Louisiana College. The Wildcats tailed nine shots.

Ouachita Baptist returns to action Monday, Sept. 15 at Hendrix College.
