OBU men’s tennis jumps seven spots in latest rankings

ARKADELPHIA – The Ouachita Baptist University men’s tennis team jumped seven spots to No. 7 in the latest NCAA Division II Campbell/ITA College Tennis Rankings Tuesday.

The Tigers (9-0) are coming off an 8-1 win on Saturday to then-No. 11 Drury. The Panthers moved three spots to No. 8. Ouachita is one of just three Gulf South Conference schools and the only West Division school inside the Top 10. Valdosta State is No. 2 and West Florida, No. 9.


Barry holds jumps one spot from No. 2 to No. 1, while Lynn is third. Georgia College and State made a nine-spot increase, going from No. 13 to No. 4 and Armstrong Atlantic State fell four spots to No. 5. Hawaii Pacific is sixth, while USC Aiken rounds out the Top 10 in the 10th spot.

The Tigers return to action, 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 13 at the Heflin Tennis Center against Arkansas-Fort Smith.
