OBU Softball takes two at UAM Super 8 Classic

The Ouachita Baptist University softball team swept a pair of games during the opening day of the Arkansas-Monticello Super 8 Motel Classic Friday at City Field 2 as the Lady Tigers edged Quincy, 3-2, in eight innings and rolled past Drury, 9-0, in five innings.

Ouachita (5-3) won a thriller in the opening game by coming from behind in extra innings to beat Quincy.

Trailing 2-1 in the bottom of the eighth, the Lady Tigers got a runner on and Kristen Rigsbee hit a walkoff home run to give Ouachita a 3-2 victory.

The homer sparked the Lady Tigers to win their second straight by routing Drury, 9-0, to conclude play during the first day of the classic.

The Lady Tigers continue play at the University of Arkansas-Monticello Super 8 Motel Classic Saturday, Feb. 14. Ouachita takes on Quincy at noon, followed by a 2:00 p.m., contest against Southern Indiana.
