OBU women’s soccer defeated by West Georgia

The Ouachita Baptist University women’s soccer team was defeated 6-0 Friday afternoon in a Gulf South Conference match at West Georgia.

Sarah Glenn played all 90 minutes in goal for the Lady Tigers (1-5 overall, 0-5 GSC), recording five saves. Patricia Logsdon had one save in 90 minutes for the Lady Wolves (7-3-2, 2-0-1).

West Georgia got things started in the second minute as Samantha Jones’ corner kick found the head of Jessica Taylor for the first goal. The Lady Wolves added to the margin in the 11th minute as Taylor assisted on a Cydney Raymond goal to grab a 2-0 advantage.

A minute later, Erika Harvey found the back of the net on an assist by Melanie Kilburn and in the 25th minute, it was Kilburn who scored on an assist from Harvey to give West Georgia a 4-0 lead heading into the half.

Elyse Boileau and Kilburn scored goals in the second half to put the game out of reach.

Ouachita continues Gulf South Conference action 1 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 12 at Delta State.
