Ouachita Women’s Golf finishes 15th at Pepsi Lion Invitation

POTTSBORO, Texas- The Ouachita Baptist Women’s Golf team finished in 15th place in their first-ever spring golf match in the sports history, at the Tanglewood Resort in Pottsboro, Texas on Tuesday.

Ouachita fired a two-round total of 862 (443, 419) behind overall team champion Incarnate Word who finished at 657 overall. Other Gulf South Conference schools competing in the tournament included Arkansas Tech (673) who finished second and Henderson State (711) in 13th.

Leading the way for the Lady Tigers was junior Caitlin Jones, who finished with a total of 195 (99, 96). Freshman Amber Beachman fired a 198, while junior Whitley Berry (226) and freshman Allie Brown (243) rounded out the scoring.

Incarnate Word’s Joanna De Sa Peirera finished as the individual overall medalist with a 154 total.

Ouachita returns to the course on March 28 in the Southern Arkansas Invitational at the North Ridge Country Club in Texarkana.
