Rycraw, Allen Named GAC Players of the Week

October 15, 2012

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark.- The Ouachita Tigers received their first GAC Player of the Week selections for the 2012 season. This news came just a couple of hours after learning that the Tigers had moved up to No. 10 in the Week 7 AFCA Coaches Poll.

Chris Rycraw was named as one of three Offensive Players of the Week for his lights out performance against the University of Arkansas-Monticello. Rycraw recorded 242 yards and a touchdown in the game on 22 carries, for an average of 11 yards per carry. He posted a long run of 65 yards in the game as well.

Etauj Allen was named as the lone GAC Defensive Player of the Week after his solid performance on Saturday. Allen recorded four solo tackles, but most impressive was his 13 yard interception return for a touchdown. His interception touchdown wasn’t his only score of the afternoon though, as he also had a 73 yard punt return touchdown in the game.

Rycraw and Allen will help lead the No. 10 Tigers into this weekend’s Top 25 match-up against GAC foe Harding. Along with the normal media coverage for the game, it will also be broadcasted on 103.7 The Buzz in Little Rock. Kickoff for the game is scheduled for 1 p.m.
