Ouachita to host annual Majors Fair Oct. 24

October 23, 2012

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Ouachita Baptist University’s Office of Career Services will host a Majors Fair on Wednesday, Oct. 24. The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the campus lawn surrounding Grant Plaza. Additionally, OBU dining services will provide a lunch on the lawn during the same time. The event is open to all students.

The majors fair is designed to provide OBU students the opportunity to speak with department representatives, faculty members and students involved in each of Ouachita’s areas of study. Every major and minor on campus will be represented. While the event is geared especially toward undecided freshman and sophomores, all students are encouraged to attend the event.

“Our goal is to give students a casual setting to discuss opportunities with each academic school,” said Lauren Land, OBU Director of Career Services. “Everyone will be present at one time, a perfect opportunity to get a variety of information all together without having to set up multiple appointments with multiple people down the road.”

Students are encouraged to research their own potential areas of interest prior to attending the event. A listing of all majors andminors offered by Ouachita Baptist University can be accessed at www.obu.edu/academics. For more information, contact Lauren Land at landl@obu.edu or (870) 245-5593.
