Ouachita to host semester’s final Tiger Day on April 12

April 8, 2013

On Friday, April 12, prospective students and their parents have one more opportunity this semester to catch a glimpse of being a student at Ouachita Baptist University.

Highlighting the experience will be tours of campus and classes for both students and parents, along with a catered meal in Walker Conference Center.

“It’s like a banquet experience. You have a great sit-down meal with your admissions counselors in a non-threatening environment,” said Kevin Coleman, a Ouachita admissions counselor.

“Parents get to meet with deans and upper level administrative staff,” Coleman said, adding that students have a great opportunity to “meet some of their future classmates.”

Tiger Day also features current students who take prospective students and their parents on campus tours. Students in the Ouachita Student Foundation help give these students a ground-level look into Ouachita’s campus and classes and also offer insight into the life of a current student.

The final Tiger Day of the academic year will begin at 8:30 a.m. with check-in in the lobby of Hickingbotham Hall. The opening program will be held in Young Auditorium at 9 a.m. Students then will meet with Ouachita’s academic deans followed by the tour of campus at 10 a.m. During the 11 a.m. hour, parents will attend a question-and-answer panel with administrators while the students attend a class of their choice. At 12 noon, students and parents are invited to dine in Walker Conference Center, and the day ends with a final tour of residence halls starting at 1 p.m.
