Jon: “We met in graduate school at Arizona State University. I was new on campus working on a master’s degree and I had seen Dr. G in the hallways. [One day] I was in the music library doing some ‘work’ while she was over at the copy machine. I just kind of bopped over there, introduced myself and asked her out on a date. Yeah, I was kind of bold and then she said yes!”

Glenda: “Okay do you want my version? I got my bachelor’s at Arizona State and was working on my master’s. So we always tried to help new students. He did come into the library and we both were looking at each other, I guess. But he didn’t ask me out at the copier. So it was later on that week that I went to a practice for a show that he and my sister were in together. They were rehearsing on Saturday and I came to ‘see my sister.’ Then Jon and I started talking during their break and that’s when he actually said, ‘Hey do you want to go to Darlene’s recital?'”

Jon: “So that’s why you have to ask the question to both people because it’s been 37 years.”
