OBU Baseball preseason ranked 14th in NCBWA

The ninth-ranked Ouachita Baptist University baseball team entered Monday the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division II National Preseason Poll ranked 14th.

The Tigers (5-2) are one of three Gulf South Conference teams ranked inside the Top 25. Delta State is ranked fifth, while Southern Arkansas is ninth. Valdosta State is receiving votes.

Mount Olive, the defending national champions, garnered seven first-place votes for 175 points to be ranked in the top spot. Tampa (167) was second, while Central Missouri (155) was third. Chico State (151) is right ahead of the Statesmen in the fourth spot.

Ouachita, which won three-of-four this past weekend against Missouri Western State, returns to action 2:00 p.m., Friday, Feb. 13 at Rab Rodgers Field in a single game against Truman State. The Tigers will play a three-game series at home against Drury, starting Feb. 14.
