OBU’s Miller named GSC West Division Player of the Week

Ouachita Baptist University freshman guard Domino Miller was named Monday the Gulf South Conference West Division Player of the Week.

Miller set a career high in points scored with 20 against rival Henderson State, pushing the Lady Tigers to a 94-75 victory. The native of Mountain Home, Ark., then went on to break that mark one game later, with 21 points in a 72-66 win over Harding that nailed down OBU as the fourth seed in the West Division. For the week, she shot an amazing 60 percent from beyond the arc and was 15-of-17 at the free-throw line.

North Alabama’s Amber Rutherford garnered Gulf South Conference East Division honors.

Ouachita, which concluded the regular season with a 20-7 overall record, is the No. 4 seed in the Gulf South Conference Tournament and will meet 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 4 at the DeSoto Civic Center the East Division No. 5 seed, Montevallo.
