The Ouachita Baptist women’s soccer team dropped its second straight contest after falling to UAH, 4-0, in a Gulf South Conference match Saturday afternoon at Charger Field.
The Lady Chargers (4-4 overall, 1-0 GSC) broke a scoreless tie in the 13th minute as Camila Cortez scored her first goal of the season off an assist by Janell Nedd to give UAH a 1-0 lead.
UAH added to the advantage in the 31st minute as Courtney Mayers scored off an assist by Devin Newman, giving the Lady Chargers a 2-0 lead.
The Lady Tigers (1-2, 0-2) registered just one shot in the first half, which came in the 37th minute as Lauren Pierce’s shot was saved by Bethany Ensley.
UAH didn’t waste too much time in the second half, putting the game away in the 48th minute as Brooke Stansberry found the back of the net with an unassisted goal to give the Lady Chargers a 3-0 advantage.
Laura Burns added to the margin with an unassisted goal in the 84th minute to give UAH a 4-0 lead.
Katie Osment and Jody Persson were in the net for Ouachita, with Persson finishing with eight saves. Ensley and Rachel Marsicano split time in goal for UAH. Ensley had one saves, while Marsicano didn’t record a save.
The Lady Chargers outshot the Lady Tigers, 24-2.
Ouachita returns to action with a slew of Gulf South Conference games Friday, Oct. 3 and Sunday, Oct. 5 at the OBU Soccer Complex. The Lady Tigers meet West Florida Friday and Montevallo Sunday.
