OBU softball wins 1-0 over Southwest Baptist

ARKADELPHIA- The Lady Tigers rode the arm of junior Kristen Rigsbee to a 1-0 shutout victory over Southwest Baptist in the final game of the 2010 OBU Classic in Arkadelphia.

Ouachita Baptist 1, Southwest Baptist 0

Ouachita (4-1) recorded their fourth-straight victory against SBU, led by a strong performance by Rigsbee (2-1), as the junior went the distance in striking out 10 batters and allowing just five hits.

Ouachita senior Haley Chambers recorded an RBI single to center field in the top of the first inning, scoring freshman Megan Askew for the only run in the game. Chambers finished 1-for-2 at the plate, while senior Korrine Cook led the Lady Tigers with a 2-for-3 day at the plate. Juniors Whitley Hoppe and Kelli Bratton each recorded a hit for Ouachita.

The Lady Tigers return to action on Thursday, Feb. 18 against Arkansas-Pine Bluff at Sully Anderson Field in Arkadelphia at 2 p.m.
