ARKADELPHIA- It wasn’t the prettiest of victories for Ouachita Baptist, but the Lady Tigers outlasted Texas A&M-International for a 85-74 victory to improve to 5-1 on the season in the first round of the 2010 ORR Auto HPER/AT Alumni Basketball Classic at Duke Wells Gym in Arkadelphia on Friday.

Ouachita (5-1) was aided by five players in double figures, forcing Texas A&M-International (1-6) into 29 turnovers on the night. In fact, both teams combined for 42 fouls and 53 turnovers on the night.

The Lady Tigers jumped out to a 38-33 lead at half, as junior Gabby Coleman scored 12 of her team-high 19 points in the half. Texas A&M-International shot impressively throughout at 48 percent overall, but Ouachita continually applied defensive pressure that eventually led to points off of turnovers.

Ouachita Baptist returns to action Saturday, Dec. 4 at Duke Wells Gym against Oklahoma Panhandle State at 1 p.m.
