ARKADELPHIA- Ouachita Baptist University Head Men’s Basketball Coach
Mark Price has announced the signing of Taylor Smith to a National
Letter of Intent, and will join the program in the Fall of 2011.

Smith led Riverview High School in Searcy to a Class 3-2A Conference
title, district championship, regional runner-up and Elite Eight berth
in the Class 3A State Tournament as a senior.

The 6’5 point guard averaged 14 points and 6.8 rebounds under Coach Jon
Laffoon at Riverview, earning All-State and All-Conference honors twice
during his prep career. Smith added 4.9 assists and 2.5 steals per game
during his final campaign, leading the Raiders to a 24-6 overall record
and 9-1 conference mark as a senior.

“Taylor is a very promising talented prospect,” Price said. “He is from
a wonderful family and has a background with quality coaches. I am
excited to add him to the Ouachita Basketball family.”

Smith will report to campus in August to begin preparation for the
2011-12 season.
