Tigers fall in Battle of the Ravine 21-17

ARKADELPHIA—Henderson State defeated Ouachita Baptist 21-17 at Cliff Harris Stadium this afternoon.Henderson State kept the Tigers from scoring a single point in the fourth quarter, though the Tigers had three possessions on the Reddie side of the field.

Ouachita did score once in the third quarter on a Kris Oliver run from two yards out. The run capped a 13-play, 90-yard drive.

The Tigers finished with only 237 yards of total offense. 157 came off the ground.

Kris Oliver rushed for 94 yards on 21 carries and Warford rushed 16 times for 68 yards.

Warford finished 8-of-19 for 80 yards. Kris Oliver and Ke’Vontae Pope both recorded three receptions.

Mike Williamson recorded ten total tackles and one tackle for loss. Alex Myres had nine.

The Reddies scored on the first possession from scrimmage when Ryan McDonald coasted into the end zone on third down. The drive was capped off on third down after the Tigers held rushes by Bryson on first and second-and-goal. The drive eclipsed six minutes of game time on 13 plays for 84 yards.

Warford responded on the next drive coasting into the end zone from seven yards out with 1:41 remaining in the first quarter.

The Reddies took a 14-7 lead on a Dallas Hardison pass to Mark Czaus on an out-rout to the sideline on third and goal with 8:26 in the first half.

With 1:22 remaining in the second quarter, Cole Antley added three points for the Tigers on a 25-yard field goal.

Oliver had 12 rushes for 64 yards in the first half. Warford added 53 yards on the ground with 12 rushes and a score.

Warford finished the first half completing 5-of-8 passes for 51 yards. Evian Hill caught two of those passes, both on key third downs to extend drives for the Tigers in the first half.

The Tigers finish the season 7-4.
