December 13, 2012

KANSAS CITY, Kan.- Following an exciting regular season, and an invigorating Great American Conference tournament appearance, the Ouachita Lady Tiger soccer team has received two National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-Central Region Third Team selections. Defender Carrie Lieblong and midfielder Lauren Hatch, both seniors, were the Lady Tigers’ selections, following a 10-8-1 season.

Lieblong was named to the third team along with three other defenders. She was a key cog in the Lady Tigers defense, which held opponents to just 1.05 goals per game over the course of the season. She played in all 19 of the team’s games this season, starting 18. Along with her defensive accolades, Carrie recorded two goals.

Hatch was named to the third team with five other midfielders. Hatch was a large part of a powerful Lady Tiger offense this season, picking up three goals and four assists over the course of the year for a total of 10 points. She had 11 shots on goal, but one of the most important qualities that Hatch brought to the team was her leadership.
