OBU hosts United Blood Services blood drive on April 1-2

March 28, 2009

Ouachita Baptist University students, faculty and staff will have the opportunity to participate in a campus blood drive on April 1-2.

The drive, sponsored by United Blood Services, will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. both days in the Evans Student Center Banquet Rooms. T-shirts, snacks and drinks will be available to all donors.

United Blood Services is the main provider of blood to the southwest region of Arkansas. It exclusively provides blood to St. Joseph Regional Health Center, HealthPark Hospital and NPMC, all in Hot Springs.

“Since we are a regional center, the blood supply in our area remains challenging year-round,” said Tom Wilkins, donor recruitment representative for United Blood Services. “The blood drives done at OBU are critical to the survival of this program.”

United Blood Services is seeking an organization to help organize this community service program at OBU. Those interested should contact Tom Wilkins at (501) 624-0666.
