Rigsbee named GSC Softball Player of the Week

ARKADELPHIA- After hitting four home runs and driving in 13 runs, Ouachita Baptist junior pitcher Kristen Risbee has been named Gulf South Conference Player of the Week, conference officials announced on Tuesday. The award is the second of the season for Rigsbee, as the Frisco, Texas native was named GSC Pitcher of the Week earlier this season.

Rigsbee continues a stellar season for the Lady Tigers not only on the mound, but also at the plate, leading the GSC in Home Runs with 13 in 2010, while also ranking first in runs scored (44), third in total bases (104), fourth in RBI (44) and fifth in slugging percentage (.782). Rigsbee led Ouachita Baptist (31-15, 10-10 GSC West) to a 5-1 record with her performance at the plate. For the week, the junior batted .555 overall with 10 hits in 18 plate appearances. Rigsbee added 14 RBI on two doubles and four home runs to record a 1.333 slugging percentage for the week.

In the 8-4 win over Southern Arkansas, Rigsbee provided the difference at the plate, recording 6 RBI in a four-run game, while also driving in 3 RBI in a three-run victory against the Lady Muleriders in a 4-1 victory. On the season, the junior is batting .421 overall, with 9 doubles, 13 HR and 44 RBI.
