In preparation for this year’s Martin Luther King Day of Service, 65 volunteers with Ouachita Baptist University’s Foster Grandparent Program made hand-tied fleece blankets during their in-service meetings the past three months. Shirley McMillan (right), Foster Grandparent director with the Elrod Center for Family & Community, and several of the grandparents presented the blankets to Beverly Hankins, chair of the Board of Directors of the Pregnancy Resource Center for Southwest Arkansas, for use by the center when it opens. Funding for the project was provided through a grant from the Cone Foundation of Arkadelphia High School.
