ARKADELPHIA, Ark.—Student-faculty ratios, collegiate atmosphere and fitting in are many factors that prospective college students consider whenchoosing a university to attend. Ouachita Baptist University’s Office of Admissions Counseling is hosting a Tiger Day Dec. 9 to aid prospective students in their search.
“It is an opportunity for them to get a quick little snapshot of campus life at Ouachita,” said Lori Motl, OBU’s director of admissions counseling.
The Dec. 9 Tiger Day will begin with 8:30 a.m. check-in at Hickingbotham Hall and an opening program in Young Auditorium, followed by opportunities for students to meet with academic deans in their field of interest. At 10 and 11 a.m., prospective students may choose to attend classes or take campus tours with current students and admissions counselors as guides. Parents may alsotake campus tours and are invited to a panel discussion with Ouachita faculty and administrators at 11 a.m. All guests are welcome for lunch at 12 noon in Walker Conference Center, followed by a tour of Ouachita’s residence halls.
Tiger Day is held about once a month and works in tandem with Ouachita’s other on-campus events for prospective students, Getting Ready for Ouachita’s World (GROW) and Preview Days. These events offer prospective students the opportunity to meet with other current and prospective students. In addition to these scheduled events, prospective students may schedule personal visits year-round through the Office of Admissions Counseling.
